INLANDWATERS_drainage_area_thresholds (FeatureServer)

Service Description: Waterways are classified, and critical water quality zones are established according to drainage area. This layer is used to determine the point along a creek centerline at which a particular area of drainage beings. Guidelines for waterway classification as they pertain to drainage area are detailed in chapter 25-8-91 of the City of Austin Land Development Code.

Description:

Raster based model creeks were created for various drainage area thresholds, 64, 320, and 640 acres, using flow accumulation and flow direction grids. Points were generated in the last grid cell of the modeled creek for each drainage area threshold and then combined into one dataset. Thresholds are used to split vector creek centerlines or as a geographical reference for the beginning of a particular drainage area threshold, 64, 320, and 640 acres
