This\nfile is currently under construction and should be used for reference purposes\nonly. \u003c/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eData History\u003c/b\u003e: The attribute data for these features were\nderived from the nomenclature system in the \u003ci\u003ePompei.\nPitture e Mosaici \u003c/i\u003evolumes and digitized in CAD by students at the\nUniversity of Massachusetts Amherst. Information on room names were then added\nto the attribute table using a RegionInsulaDoorwayRoom system (e.g., VI1736B).\nSpatial data in this layer are based on a CAD file provided by the\nSoprintendenza di Pompei to Eric Poehler in 2003. The CAD file was created by\ndigitizing the RICA Maps of Pompeii, 1984, supported by World Monuments Watch\nand funded by American Express. The RICA MAPs were drawn in part from aerial\nimages taken at 820m and supplemented by on the ground survey. Inconsistencies\namong the features of this layer with satellite imagery or other maps of\nPompeii may be the result of errors in the rectification of the original aerial\nimages and differences projected between coordinate systems (PBMP data are in\nthe Monte_Mario_Italy_2 projected coordinate system).
