This dataset is part of a canal mapping project to update the Gallatin Valley inventory of water resources. This project is dedicated to mapping and updating the inventory of Gallatin Valley's resources from streams to irrigation ditches.

The line feature of this layer was collected to mark the location of the Valley Ditch itself.</span></p><p style='margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:6px; padding-bottom:1em; font-family:"Segoe UI", Arial, sans-serif; font-size:13.3333px;'>Equipment: Emlid RS2 Multi GNSS receiver, Samsung tablet using the ArcGIS Collector app, 2 meter long survey pole.</p><p style='margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:6px; padding-bottom:1em; font-family:"Segoe UI", Arial, sans-serif; font-size:13.3333px;'>Mapping Techniques: This point feature was collected with averaging of 15 GPS points. The line feature was collected using a stop/start mapping technique when there was an obstacle in the way. The line feature was also taken using an offset. The distance was measured using a tape measure and the bearings were determined using a compass.</p><p style='margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:6px; padding-bottom:1em; font-family:"Segoe UI", Arial, sans-serif; font-size:13.3333px;'>Base Station: MTSU CORS station (45° 39' 40.37689" N, 111° 02' 42.00898" W), approximately 9 miles from the mapping location</p><p style='margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:6px; padding-bottom:1em; font-family:"Segoe UI", Arial, sans-serif; font-size:13.3333px;'>Editing: <span style='font-family:inherit; font-size:13.3333px;'>Data was post-processed using using RTKLib. Section 3 had an error in offset so the canal for this section was edited during post-processing to line up with the NAIP 2017 image of the ditch.</span></p><p style='margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:6px; padding-bottom:1em; font-family:"Segoe UI", Arial, sans-serif; font-size:13.3333px;'>Estimated Accuracy: 1.25m <span style='font-size:13.3333px;'>(63-68% confidence level)</span></p><p style='margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:6px; padding-bottom:1em; font-family:"Segoe UI", Arial, sans-serif; font-size:13.3333px;'>Spatial Reference: The GPS data was collected in WGS84 but was converted to the spatial reference of the feature dataset (UTM Zone 12 and datum NAD83 (2011)).
