This will be the parent of city_kc_area and city_area. This layer shows the annexation and incorporation activity in King County since 1990. For simple current city boundaries look at CITY_Area which is a derivative of City_Annex_Area. City_Annex_Area is jointly maintained by DDES and Assessments. DDES and KCA city layers were merged into one shared layer during December of 2006. The data was migrated from a coverage to a geodatabase where both DDES and KCA can share in the maintenance of the layer. City_Annex_Area differs from City_Dist and CityLevy layers. City_Dist reflects voter district boundaries generalized to the roadway if the boundary is a city boundary.
