One of the inputs used to produce the new 2024 wetlands data is the Wetland Intrinsic Potential model, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style='font-size:12pt;'&gt;developed at the University of Washington by Meghan Halabisky et. al. Described in detail in the link above, the model output in this case is a probability surface for all of King County showing the probability of a wetland being present.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style='font-size:12pt;'&gt;&lt;span&gt;King County consulted with the developers of the model and decided that based on a suitability model score of 80% or more, these are areas with relatively high wetland intrinsic potential and called 'Potential Wetlands'. These polygons do not overlap with the 2024 National Wetland Inventory wetlands, and in many cases, the two datasets are coincident.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style='font-size:12pt;'&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</idAbs>
