The floodway is the channel of a stream plus any adjacent floodplain area that must be kept free of encroachment so that the 1-percent annual chance flood can be carried without substantial increases in flood heights.</span><div style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px;'><span style='font-family:inherit;'><br /></span></div><div style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px;'><span style='font-family:inherit;'>Boundaries were developed by Watershed Science and Engineering. Drafts will be made available to the public online and presented in a community meeting after which the community may submit comments on the mapping. After review of community comments and any revisions the mapping will be submitted to FEMA for review, approval and incorporation into FEMA's National Flood Hazard Layer. The data will also be added or replace current data in King County iMap. It is used by King County Permitting for regulating floodplain development and to determine if a property owner is required to have flood insurance for structures on their property.</span></div>This layer shows Seidel Creek draft 100 year floodway.<span style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px;'>King County data are made available with the understanding that they shall be used exclusively by the obtainer or his/her authorized agents.
