Florida 2070 and its companion project Water 2070 were a joint\neffort of 1000 Friends of Florida, the University of Florida's GeoPlan Center\nand the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eThe work was completed in December 2016.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eFlorida 2070 produced three land\nuse/population distribution scenarios Baseline 2010, Trend 2070 and Alternative\n2070.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eThe two 2070 scenarios are based\non a population projection derived from data produced by the Florida Bureau of\nEconomic and Business Research.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eThis\nprojection suggests approximately 15 million more people will live in Florida\nin 2070 than did in 2010.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eThe Baseline\n2010 captures the patterns of land use and associated population distribution\nthat existed in 2010.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eTrend 2070\ncaptures a potential pattern of land use and associated population distribution\nfor 2070, should all new development occur in greenfields at the same gross\nurban density as was present in each county in 2010.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eAlternative 2070 captures a potential pattern\nof land use and associated population distribution for 2070 that assumes\nincreased levels of redevelopment of existing urban areas, increased gross\nurban densities in greenfields over those of 2010, and protection for some\nagricultural and natural lands.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c/span\u003eWater\n2070 uses the three Florida 2070 scenarios to estimate development and\nagriculture demand for each census block expressed in gallons per day per\nacre.\u003cspan\u003e \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr /\u003e\u003c/p\u003e",
