Description: This feature service shows
the index grid that is used as the basis for an automated map series
covering the National Wildlife Refuges in Alaska. The grid is comprised
of a series of tiles, each of which is 25 miles east/west by 25 miles north/south (four townships north/south by 4 ranges east/west). Each tile in the index grid shows the 1:30,000 scale map extents for 604 maps covering all 16 of the National Wildlife Refuges within the State of Alaska.
Each of the 604 maps is in the geoPDF format, which allows the maps to be loaded into a GPS-enabled tablet or smartphone for various purposes such as navigation, route planning, data collection, refuge management, etc.
