<p>The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Wetlands Inventory Program produces decadal Wetlands Status and Trends reports to Congress.</p><p></p><p>These reports provide scientific estimates of wetland area in the conterminous United States as well as change in wetland area. This specific report spans the years between 2009 and 2019. </p><p>This layer is in a web map that is a component in a<a href='https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/631d1f377d954be29d2dd74cd1f49a7e' target='_blank' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'> story map </a>that presents a summary of the results of the report as well as providing examples of the types of wetland change observed, the implications of wetland change, and the studies' recommendations for policies and strategies going forward.
