Subsequent translocations expanded the re‑established population statewide. Included are layers representing Vermont’s initial spring turkey hunting zones for 1973 and 1974:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1973 Spring Hunting Zones (A–C):&lt;/strong&gt; Three restricted management zones centered on the original release area. Access was limited to residents using lottery-issued permits. Zone A (yellow), Zone B (blue), Zone C (orange).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1974 Spring Hunting Zones (A–D):&lt;/strong&gt; A fourth zone was added as population growth supported expanded harvest opportunity, increasing huntable area from ~745 to &amp;gt;1,000 square miles.
