Layer: Developable Land (ID:13)

View In:   Map Viewer

Name: Developable Land

Display Field: Part

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description:

Created by merging two datasets: USGS HUC Boundaries in the US, and Mexico watershed boundaries from INEGI.

Note that the Salton Sea and Laguna Salada watersheds in the lower basin were included; they share an infrequent hydraulic connection to the Colorado River, and are not included by all authorities.

Simplified polygons to remove vertices and decrease file size using the online tool Map Shaper.

Intended for viewing at scales of 1:250,000 and larger. Zooming in closer reveals inaccuracies in the watershed boundaries present in the source files.
