Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025 and be completed in 2026. </span></p><p style='margin-bottom:9pt; background-image:initial; background-position:initial; background-size:initial; background-repeat:initial; background-attachment:initial; background-origin:initial; background-clip:initial;'><b>Squamish River Dike Upgrades</b></p><p style='margin-bottom:9pt; background-image:initial; background-position:initial; background-size:initial; background-repeat:initial; background-attachment:initial; background-origin:initial; background-clip:initial;'><span style='font-family:"Myriad Pro", sans-serif;'><i>Eagle Viewing Area / Siyich'em Reserve</i></span></p><p style='margin-bottom:9pt; background-image:initial; background-position:initial; background-size:initial; background-repeat:initial; background-attachment:initial; background-origin:initial; background-clip:initial;'><span style='font-family:"Myriad Pro", sans-serif;'>Significant design, planning, feasibility analysis and consultation work has been undertaken on the Squamish River dike upgrade at the Eagle Viewing Area/Siyich’em Reserve, including preparation of a Dike Master Plan, a Pre-Design, and Seismic Assessment for dike upgrades. Dike in Brackendale between the Aik’wucks and Wai’wakum Squamish Nation
Reserves to a 1:200 year return period standard. Additional work has been done to widen and strengthen the dike to significantly reduce the risk of flooding and protect residential, commercial
and environmentally sensitive areas within the community. In 2023, t</span><span style='font-family:"Myriad Pro", sans-serif;'>he District completed construction on a flood protection project to remove and replace an abandoned culvert with a large, gate controlled flood box within the dike at the north end of Jimmy Jimmy (Judd) Slough in order to allow controlled flows to enter the slough and improve fish habitat. </span><span style='font-family:"Myriad Pro", sans-serif;'>Further work is
planned in 2025 to upgrade 900m of Squamish River dike at Jimmy Jimmy (Judd)
slough to a 1:500 year return period standard with a $4.0M grant received under
