Description:

Developed by the U.S. EPA Office of Air and Radiation, this content item depicts show the total change in the average seasonal temperature for each of the contiguous 48 states from 1896 to 2021, in degrees Fahrenheit based on NOAA 2022. Total change in temperature was calculated from the long-term average rate of change. The three-month seasons are defined as follows: winter (December, January, February), spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), and fall (September, October, November).
