Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) Center for Program Analysis (CPA)&#13;
initiated the RE-Powering America’s Land Initiative to demonstrate the enormous&#13;
potential that contaminated lands, landfills, and mine sites provide for&#13;
developing renewable energy in the United States. Using publically available&#13;
information, RE-Powering maintains a list of completed renewable energy&#13;
installations on contaminated lands, landfills, and mine sites. To highlight&#13;
successful renewable energy projects developed on contaminated lands, EPA is&#13;
compiling information on completed and proposed renewable energy installations&#13;
on contaminated lands from public announcements, press releases, newspaper&#13;
articles, and, in some cases, conversations with the parties involved. This&#13;
file reflects completed (currently operating) renewable energy installations on&#13;
contaminated lands, landfills, and mine sites. See RE-Powering America's Land&#13;
