<idAbs>This service contains mountaintop removal areas in West Virginia and associated hydrology.  These features depict identified mountain top removal areas over a portion of the Appalachian Mountains in 2010. These areas were found by conducting a 50 class unsupervised classification by use of ERDAS Imagne 2014. From there, the Mountain Top Removal areas were classified. Afterwards, ESRI ArcpMap 10.2 was utilized to further process the data and remove any noise within the imagery. Features with an acreage of 40 or greater were then determined and further broken down to features not intersecting ridges, 400 meters and greater from highways and major rivers, and areas 50 meters and greater from streets and rivers were extracted. Afterwards, the total acreage of the features was calculated which totals 370,294.80 acres. Then, a random 30 point analysis was done to determine the accuracy of the features in which 90% accuracy was found.</idAbs>
