<idAbs>This mapping project involves practice in using remote sensing with LandSat imagery to detect and present mapping data that reflects the massive impact of mountain top removal coal mining practices on the landscape of the Southern Appalacians.  

LandSat images from 2010 were analyzed based on previous results produced for the study area for 2005.  A significant growth in affected area has been shown, although some of the analysis could have been better.  Raw LandSat images were used without any sort of data cleaning for clouds or other possible issues with the imagery.
