Description: This is a geographic database of Fire and Emergency Services in Bexar County, TX. Fire and Emergency Services - federal, state, and local facilities and assets used by trained personnel in fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials (HAZMAT) control, emergency rescue, building code enforcement, and public fire safety education. Includes assets used to respond to chemical/biological/radiological incidents. Includes Fire and Emergency Services Operational Facilities, Fire and Emergency Services Administrative Office/Headquarters, Fire and Emergency Services Investigation Laboratories, Fire and Emergency Services Communication Facilities, Fire Training Facilities. Fire and Emergency Services Operational Facilities - local facilities, to include fire stations, used for day-to-day operations and staffed by response personnel. Includes vehicle bays for fire apparatus and crew sleeping quarters. Fire and Emergency Services Administrative Office/Headquarters - central offices where fire and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) activities are managed in a given jurisdiction. Note: In many communities these offices are located in a fire station. Fire and Emergency Services Investigation Laboratories - facilities equipped to conduct forensic investigations on fires. Fire and Emergency Services Communication Facilities - facilities where communication equipment (e.g., radios, transmitter and repeater towers, communication centers) is used or stored by law enforcement.
