Description:

Maintenance districts are subdivisions of the larger engineering district.

Maintenance districts are used by local governments to finance the cost of maintaining open spaces, parks, playgrounds, and other public areas. The maintenance district's responsibilities encompass a wide variety of activities; with duties as diverse as snow removal and desert landscaping. Maintain lane miles of roadway, drainage channels, canals, tunnels and storm water retention ponds.
