This data product includes the related citation statistics from the Maryland Safe Zones - Automated Speed Enforcement Program for each location. Maryland Safe Zones - Automated Speed Enforcement Program is a joint, collaborative effort between the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA), and the Maryland State Police (MSP).</p><p style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:1.5rem;"><span style="font-family:inherit; font-size:medium;">Transportation Article § 21-810 of the Maryland Annotated Code, effective October 1, 2009, authorizes the MDOT State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) and Maryland State Police (MSP) to use automated speed enforcement (ASE) technology in work zones.
