is the second version of a product distributed by The United States Geological
Survey (USGS) that visually demonstrates the locations of slabs on a global
scale. Slab is a term that represents the oceanic crustal plate that is being overridden
by the continental plate, creating a subduction zone. Slab2 brings a high-level
of details to slab geometries and provides 3-dimensional data of subducting
slabs. Seismically active faults are related to earthquakes of high-magnitude,
which can cause catastrophic events. It is important to understand the extent
