Description: Critical water quality zone & water quality transition zone buffers for all creeks within the City of Austin jurisdiction. Guidelines for buffer creation are detailed in chapters 25-8-92 through 25-8-93 of the City of Austin Land Development Code (LDC). Buffer distance is measured from creek centerlines and applied only to above ground creek features, i.e. culverts and similar underground creek features are not buffered. Buffer distance for Lake Travis, Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake (formerly know as Town Lake), and Colorado River below Lady Bird Lake is measured from shore boundaries as outlined in LDC chapter 25-8-92.
