Description:

This feature only consists of the bourndaries of Transit Oriented Districts (TOD) in Austin. The purpose of a TOD is the functional integration of land use and transit through the creation of compact, walkable, mixed-use communities within ¼ to ½ mile of a transit stop or station. A TOD brings together people, jobs, and services and is designed in a way that makes it efficient, safe, and convenient to travel on foot or by bicycle, transit, or car. The TOD ordinance itself establishes regulations that are aimed at achieving these goals. The TOD may be accompanied by a Station Area Plan, which is a master plan including specific choices of land use, transportation, and design options that are also aimed at meeting the goals of the TOD ordinance.
