Description: The SXSW response area boundary is a boundary designating the location of the limited area within which Special Event Ops EMS personnel responds to medical emergencies during a designated time frame of the SXSW events held each year in Austin, TX.The purpose of the EMS SXSW response area boundary file is for mapping purposes to show the location of the limited area within which Special Event Ops EMS personnel responds to medical emergencies during SXSW events. The file makes it helpful to see the location in reference to other boundaries, such as the EMS casaulty collection point and the SXSW event are in general. Special Ops responds only within and near the boundary of the response area while a private EMS group hired by SXSW responds to incidents within the larger SXSW event area and regular-duty ATCEMS responds to all incidents oustide the SXSW venue area. The sxsw response area boundary is activated for only a portion of the SXSW events, held each year in Austin, TX, usually being activated at the start of the musical portion of the event and continuing until the final day of SXSW.
