Service Description: The updated WUI code layer, valid as of January 1, 2026. The layer is amended every year by editing the wildland layer (Wildlands2025), based off Nov. 2025 Nearmap Aerial Imagery, removing developed areas from the wildland layer. WUI was determined off of the updated 2025 Wildlands layer. Designations are as follows: Proximity Zone: 150 feet from wildlands area of 40 acres or greater. Ember Zone: 0.5 miles from wildlands area of 40 acres or greater, AND 1.5 miles from wildlands area of 750 acres or greater.

The 2024 Wildland-Urban Interface Code (WUIC) was be implemented on July 10, 2025, as adopted by City Council on April 10, 2025 by ordinance 20240410-041.  All development applications submitted on or after July 10, 2025 shall comply with the 2024 WUIC.
