Special Use Airspace (SUA) is a representation of areas of airspace with defined dimensions identified by an area on the surface of the earth wherein activities must be confined because of their nature, or wherein limitations are imposed upon aircraft operations that are not a part of those activities, or both. These operation areas may include A, AR, IR, L, M, O, P, R, SR, VR, W areas and national security areas. This dataset was created using three sources. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order JO 7400.8Y documentation, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) AP/1A documentation and the Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) created data (Last updated: 201808). The three were compared/cross-referenced and in consultation with (DAFIF and FAA) the most accurate depiction of the SUA area was used.
