Description: These Planning Areas represent the forest health focus areas for implementing the 20-Year Forest Health Strategic Plan. These planning areas are based on a forest health HUC 6 watershed prioritization created by DNR staff and feedback received from local stakeholders about where there is the best alignment between state and local priorities. Each planning area will have a landscape evaluation conducted identifying forest health treatment needs in the planning area across all landowners to fulfill the requirements of SB 5546 Forest Health Assessment and Treatment Framework. The evaluation results for each planning area will be shared with the legislature in a report by December 1, each even numbered year. This is a product of the DNR Forest Health Division.
