Description: The Wildfire Potential Operational Delineations (POD) project is an active planning process which Fire Managers/other stakeholders divide WA State into smaller polygons of operational definition. The edges of a POD are defined as Potential Control Lines (PCLs).The PODs layer is a shapefile that combines USDA-FS PODs and PODs delineated by fire managers and stakeholders outside NFS land. The Process is conducted via the KITTI app with manual edits to correct topology. Each PODs are part of an ongoing process towards an all-lands delineation; POD boundaries are subject to change following on-the-ground vetting and continued dialogue among wildfire agencies and stakeholders. Minor changes to the current PODs layer are expected as better PCLs are identified and/or PODs are delineated in new areas. As such the layer is updated annually to reflect the current version of PODs. PODs updates across USDA-FS land might not be reflected. Disclaimers: PODs have not been vetted on the ground for wildfire use. Spatial resolution is limited in some areas – misalignment between the shapefile features and the on-the-ground feature being represented. Current PODs will change based on improved knowledge, collaboration across fire managers, and changing landscape conditions.
