Description: Map of the 1980-81 voyage of Tim Severin and his Omani crew on the Sohar. The vessel was built with wood from Malabar, coir from the Laccadives, and built at Sur, Oman. The Sohar sailed to Canton, China on 1980 on the tenth anniversary of Sultan Qaboos' accession. They reached successfully in China eight months later.
