Description: The FIRM is the basis for floodplain management, mitigation, and insurance activities for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Insurance applications include enforcement of the mandatory purchase requirement of the Flood Disaster Protection Act, which "... requires the purchase of flood insurance by property owners who are being assisted by Federal programs or by Federally supervised, regulated or insured agencies or institutions in the acquisition or improvement of land facilities located or to be located in identified areas having special flood hazards, " Section 2 (b) (4) of the Flood Disaster Protection Act of 1973. In addition to the identification of Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs), the risk zones shown on the FIRMs are the basis for the establishment of premium rates for flood coverage offered through the NFIP. The FIRM Database presents the flood risk information depicted on the FIRM in a digital format suitable for use in electronic mapping applications. The FIRM Database serves to archive the information collected during the Flood Risk Project.DOWNLOADED 01/14/2016 NAVD88

Description: This dataset represents the results of the FY2023 stormwater inventory for the City of Annapolis. The goal of the stormwater inventory was to identify and map all MS4 infrastructure within the Back Creek Sub-watershed. MS4 infrastructure includes stormwater infrastructure such as catch basins and manholes along city-owned roads, and outfalls along public and private shoreline and stream corridors. This dataset was produced as part of an MS4 permit support services agreement between the City of Annapolis and GreenVest LLC. GreenVest LLC and Princeton Hydro LLC conducted the stormwater inventory between November 2020 and August 2022. In FY20 and 21, a Trimble TDC150 GNSS receiver and ESRI"s ArcGIS Collector software were used to collect geospatial data. In FY22 and FY23 an EOS Arrow Gold RTK GNSS Receiver and ESRI"s ArcGIS Field Maps software were used to collect geospatial data.
