Service Description: Understanding tree canopy coverage in commercial, industrial, institutional, and waterfront districts within the City of Providence is vital to the strategic decisions around policy and future plantings. To enhance this understanding, I collaborated with the Providence Neighborhood Planting Program (PNPP), a key collaborator in the PVD Tree Plan, to identify land parcels with canopy cover that are out of compliance with the City of Providence Zoning Ordinance (2014).
Area of tree canopy cover required for different zoning district
15% tree canopy cover for industrial and waterfront districts
30% for commercial and institutional districts
