Description:

Population and Housing data for Counties within the State of Montana was compiled from the PL 94-171 Redistricting Summary files released by the U.S. Census Bureau for the 2020 Decennial Census. This data set was created by the Montana Department of Commerce for use by the citizens of Montana and the general public.

TIGER shapefiles were joined to the tabular summary file data to create this data set. A subset of variables from the release were selected for this dataset. A description of each variable and calculations are provided here.
