Description: ObjectiveThe objective of the Culverts feature class is to document the location and condition of drainage culverts within Bozeman Pond Park. These structures play a critical role in stormwater conveyance, trail protection, erosion prevention, and overall park infrastructure management. Mapping culverts supports maintenance planning, hazard mitigation, and long‑term asset tracking.Equipment UsedData for this feature class was collected using an Emlid RS2 Multi‑GNSS receiver, capable of receiving corrections from multiple satellite constellations to achieve high‑accuracy positioning.Mapping TechniquesCulverts were mapped as point features by occupying the inlet or outlet directly with the GNSS receiver. Averaged GNSS positions were used to improve positional stability and reduce noise. All culverts were accessible in the field, so no distance/bearing offsets were required. Logging was performed at a consistent interval to ensure uniform data quality.Base StationNo base station or differential correction was used for this dataset. All positions were collected in autonomous GNSS mode, resulting in standard, uncorrected accuracy.EditingMinimal editing was required for this feature class. Points were visually inspected in ArcGIS Pro to confirm correct placement relative to aerial imagery and drainage alignments. No vertices were moved, and no multipath spikes or anomalies were detected. No heads‑up digitizing or reconstruction was necessary.Estimated AccuracyBased on the project’s data quality assessment, the culverts feature class achieved an estimated horizontal accuracy of approximately 1–2 meters at a 95% confidence level, consistent with expectations for RS2 GNSS data corrected using a nearby base station.Spatial ReferenceThe spatial reference for this feature class is: NAD 1983 2011 StatePlane Montana FIPS 2500 (Meters)Coordinate System: ProjectedDatum: NAD 1983 (2011)Projection: StatePlane Montana FIPS 2500Linear Unit: MetersFields (Domain and Entity Information)MATERIALDescription: Primary construction material of the culvert.Type: Text (coded)Domain: Metal, Concrete, Plastic, OtherDIAMETERDescription: Interior diameter of the culvert pipe.Type: Double or IntegerDomain: Positive numeric values (e.g., 6–72 inches or metric equivalent)BLOCKEDDescription: Indicates whether the culvert is obstructed by debris, sediment, or vegetation.Type: Text (coded)Domain: Y, NEROSION_PRESENTDescription: Indicates whether erosion or scour is occurring at the inlet, outlet, or surrounding soil.Type: Text (coded)Domain: Y, NLAST_INSPECTIONDescription: Date the culvert was last inspected.Type: DateDomain: Valid calendar datesMAINTENANCE_PRIORITYDescription: Indicates the urgency of maintenance needs.Type: Text (coded)Domain: High, Medium, LowNOTESDescription: Optional comments or observations about the culvert.Type: TextDomain: Free text
