Description: ObjectiveThe objective of the Trail feature class is to document the location and characteristics of pedestrian trails within Bozeman Pond Park. These trails support recreation, circulation, accessibility, and maintenance planning. Mapping trail segments contributes to a comprehensive inventory of park infrastructure and helps guide long‑term management decisions.Equipment UsedData for this feature class was collected using an Emlid RS2 Multi‑GNSS receiver operating in autonomous mode (no base station and no differential correction).Mapping TechniquesTrails were mapped as line features by walking the centerline of each segment with the GNSS receiver. Vertices were collected at changes in direction, intersections, and transitions in surface type. Averaged GNSS positions were used to improve positional stability and reduce noise. All trail segments were accessible in the field, so no offsets or indirect mapping techniques were required.Base StationNo base station or differential correction was used. All positions were collected in autonomous GNSS mode, resulting in standard uncorrected accuracy.EditingMinor editing was performed to smooth line geometry and remove small multipath spikes. Vertices were adjusted only when clearly misaligned with visible trail edges in aerial imagery. No heads‑up digitizing or reconstruction was required beyond minor cleanup.Estimated AccuracyBecause no differential correction was used, the trail feature class has an estimated horizontal accuracy of approximately 3–5 meters, consistent with typical autonomous GNSS performance under open‑sky conditions.Spatial ReferenceThe spatial reference for this feature class is: NAD 1983 2011 StatePlane Montana FIPS 2500 (Meters)Coordinate System: ProjectedDatum: NAD 1983 (2011)Projection: StatePlane Montana FIPS 2500Linear Unit: MetersFields (Domain and Entity Information)SURFACE_TYPEDescription: Primary surface material of the trail segment.Type: Text (coded)Domain: Gravel, Dirt, Asphalt, Wood Chips, Mixed, OtherWIDTHDescription: Approximate width of the trail.Type: DoubleDomain: Positive numeric values (meters)EROSION_PRESENTDescription: Indicates whether erosion or surface degradation is visible along the trail.Type: Text (coded)Domain: Y, NLAST_INSPECTIONDescription: Date the trail segment was last inspected.Type: DateDomain: Valid calendar datesMAINTENANCE_PRIORITYDescription: Indicates the urgency of maintenance needs.Type: Text (coded)Domain: High, Medium, LowNOTESDescription: Optional comments or observations about the trail segment.Type: TextDomain: Free text
