This dataset includes points of interest at the Lutz Farm in Bozeman, Montana, collected with a Reach RS2 GPS Receiver. Points of interest included PVC pipe that may be used for irrigation, electrical boxes, electric fence shut off, etc.
Objective: This dataset was mapped for planning and farm management of the Lutz Farm by researchers and farm managers. The fields will eventually be used in a web mapping application where researchers and farmers can input crop information and data.
Equipment: Reach RS2 GPS receiver.
Mapping techniques: The point features in this dataset were mapped by standing directly on or putting the GPS directly above the point of interest, and using GPS averaging for 15 seconds each.
Base station: MTSU Base Station at Montana State University. This base station is about 18-20 miles from the farm.
Editing: The point features were edited to have images and defined as a type, or set as other.
Estimated accuracy: The estimated accuracy of this layer is survey-grade submeter accuracy, with a 95% confidence level.
Spatial reference information: NAD 1983 (2011) UTM Zone 12 N Transverse Mercator.

Equipment: Reach RS2 GPS receiver.
Mapping techniques: The polygon features in this dataset were mapped by walking directly on the border of the feature using streaming with a logging interval of 6 meters.
Base station: MTSU Base Station at Montana State University. This base station is about 18-20 miles from the farm.
Editing: The polygon features were smoothed out and corrected for any overlapping by using topology rules.
