Objective

This geodatabase was created to map multiple features on the MAES Post Farm location, to offer a better geospatial understanding of the site. Agriculture plotswere mapped and various attributes were recorded to give users information on the location and condition of various features.

Equipment

These shapefiles were mapped using either a Trimble 7X GPS receiver or Trimble GeoXH 3000 series, in the WGS84 datum. Accuracy and Correction They are accurate for use to 1:6,000 mapping, having a horizontal accuracy of 5 m to 68% confidence. 97% of data was accurate to below 1 m. The data corrected using post-processed differential correction from the MTSU Base Station located near the Montana State University Police Department lot (<10 km distance). Editing Details Topology was corrected to ensure all roads ended at other roads and polygons must not overlap. Various vertices were deleted where multipath errors were found.

Mapping Techniques

Polygons were mapped by walking the perimeter, using averaged vertices at each corner where possible. Distances were measured using a measuring wheel.
