Description: Centers are areas designated by the Comprehensive Plan as appropriate for higher-intensity, higher-density development and activity, typically with a mix of land uses, where growth is expected and encouraged. There are five types of Centers with varying levels of intensity and different market areas. Most Centers are intended to be highly walkable, well-served by transit, and connected by trails and bike lanes. Employment Centers focus on providing job centers where they are needed throughout the region. Centers may be designated as existing (where infill and redevelopment can still occur) or developing (entirely or mostly vacant land). This dataset is current as of March 2017 when the updated Comprehensive Plan was adopted by City Council. The boundaries may be adjusted slightly as platting actions occur.
