Description: This NZ Cycle Trails layer has been themed by the four categories: Great Rides, Network rides, Potential network rides, and Public Transport links. The Great rides encompass several sections which have different names, so these have not been dissolved. The data was received in KMZ format and has been converted to NZTM feature class and attributes tidied up and stripped down to contain just the useful information in fields with much lower maximum character lengths. The field fileFolder has been split to give TrailCat (Trail category - Great Rides, Network rides, Potential network rides, or Public Transport links), and CycleTrail (CycleTrail - group the cycle trails in the Name field belong too). The Name field consists of the individual trails that can make up a larger group in the great rides selection. In terms of the original data source, some of these files have been gathered by riding/driving the routes, others are traced from Google Earth.
