This dataset contains attribution that is geared toward being informative for the public, to help people locate the safest and most enjoyable cycle routes in Aotearoa. It is designed to assist those planning a journey by bike between and through our towns and cities.

Potential Rides are also included as they are useful from an internal planning perspective, and may change status to either a Great Ride or Heartland Ride at a later date.The dataset also contains some 'Miscellaneous Rides'; these routes, while being not recommended for cycling, have still be ridden, and have therefore been included for the purpose of coding in the love/hate survey.
