GNIS places with attributes from external sources. Population data from 2000 US Census. Incorporated status and county seat information from State of Idaho.

Use the flag attribute to filter by the number of cities one wants included in their map (e.g. FLAG <= 8). This allows scale dependencies to smoothly transition and does not rely exclusively on population but uses place relative prominence to add towns of significance such as Riggins and Stanley even at far out zoom levels even though their populations are quite small. These lists were established by surveying towns included on popular tourism, AAA, National Geographic and Rand McNally maps of Idaho.
