Description: Data source: W:\ENG\Operations\Programs\Pvmt_Mgmt\Wide Area Inventory\Wide AreasPath provided by: Pam Worley on 12/5/2019Spreadsheet name: WIDE AREA INVENTORY (Totals)_Orig.xlsThe spreadsheet was copied and was saved here: F:\PTC_Data\Wide AreasPam stated that the spreadsheet was out-of-date, and it has not been updated in ten years. The locations were plotted using the route, direction and milepost fields. Aerial photos and the PTC pavement viewer (https://videolog.paturnpike.com/index.html) were used to verify if the wide areas existed, using 2018 photos. For the wide areas that existed in the 2018 photos, a polygon feature was created. In January and February, the maintenance crews were asked to drive their district and provide Lynn Brumfiled with a list of all wide areas within their district. The purpose of this effort was to update the wide areas in SAP. The lists were copied and saved here: F:\PTC_Data\Wide Areas\From_Maintenance\WideAreas_From_Maintenance_Original files. The lists were compiled into one spreadsheet and the locations were plotted using the route, direction and milepost fields. The missing wide areas were added to this feature class. A polygon was not created for all locations within the complied maintenance spreadsheet. Some locations were entrances to accesses gates or temporary construction wide areas. There were some wide areas that were located within the engineering list and not the maintenance list. They were sent to Lynn to verify if they did/didn’t exist.
