This layer includes : The FEMA Santa Ana Watershed Levees The FEMA levee layer is a geospatial dataset that identifies levees and levee systems recognized by FEMA for flood hazard mapping and risk assessment. It includes information about levee location, status, and protection level as part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The FEMA levee layer is part of the National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) and contains: • Levee location and geometry: Spatial representation of levee alignments. • Accreditation status: Whether the levee meets FEMA’s criteria for flood protection under 44 CFR 65.10. • Protection zones: Areas considered protected by the levee system. • Associated flood zones: How the levee affects nearby flood hazard designations on Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).
