Existing Vegetation (EV) is the plant community, or floristic composition and vegetation structure, occurring at a given location at the current time. This layer also provides for Land Use and Land Cover attributes as well, so as to allow the mapping of a continuous landscape, using Anderson 1 and 2 classification systems. The Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) database contains plot vegetation data from field surveys such as FIA data, stand exams, inventories, and regeneration surveys. It includes data on trees, surface cover, understory vegetation, and down woody material. Almost any type or variety of field sampled vegetation data can be stored in FSVeg.
This feature class, FLRMP_ManagementUnit, contains polygons representing the Land and Resource Management Plan (LRMP) management units within the Manti LaSal National Forest. Data sources include the 1:62,500 scale 1986 planner's map and case file data pertaining to special land designations and developed recreation sites. This layer was originally digitized for defining stipulation areas in the Forest-wide oil and gas leasing EIS, 1992. Since then it has been relied upon as the primary source for the location of LRMP management areas. There are 476 unique polygons depicted within the coverage and 16 unique values for MGTU. These values include: DCW, DRS, GWR, KWR, MMA, MWS, PVT, RNG, RPI, SLD, SPR, TBR, UCW, UDM, WPE, and NA (blank). The layer was updated on 6/18/07 to correct an error on the west side of the San Pitch Division where two polygons of GWR were not showing up. The Fish Creek SPR polygon and adjacent features were edited 9/18/2012 to conform to the Fish Creek Winter Recreation Decision (January 2009).
