Description: Zoning standards are spelled out in Titles 20 and 21 of municipal code and determine what uses and forms are allowed on parcels, depending on the zoning district of that parcel. The zoning districts are the regulatory standards that are applied; zoning districts are shaped largely by the land use districts that cover each parcel. Land uses are examined and revised if necessary each time the City’s Growth Policy is updated. The Zoning Map reflects the zoning of individual parcels of land in the City and the associated Zoning Code (Title 20, Missoula Municipal Codes) outlines the purpose and intent of zoning districts, establishes allowable uses, controls density and intensity of development and sets development standards. Zoning and Land Use data are maintained by the Community Planning Section within the Community Planning, Development, and Innovation Department.
