Description:

This geospatial HexBin feature layer displays the Number of Modeled Trips calculated for Washington State based on Fall 2023 data provided from Replica.

Private Vehicle Trip Counts

Average private vehicle trip counts modeled within Washington State derived from a modeling simulation that leverages a composite of diverse data sources including mobile location data, from in-vehicle telematics and de-identified personal mobile devices . Hex tiles are colored by the estimated number of trips within them.

Replica uses a composite of data sources to:

• Create a synthetic population that matches the characteristics of a given region

• Train a number of behavior models specific to that region

• Run simulations of those behavior models applied to the synthetic population in order to create a “replica” of transportation and economic patterns

• Calibrate the outputs of the model against observed “ground-truth” to improve quality

Methodology Documentation can be found here: https://documentation.replicahq.com/docs/seasonal-mobility-model-methodology-extended-places

Replica Trip Volume Data provides insights into total modeled daily trips to points of interest (POIs) within a proposed site's parcel or the closest parcel within a 0.25-mile radius. This data is a valuable resource for estimating the potential traffic impact of proposed developments and supporting informed decision-making in urban planning and transportation management.

Pinpointing locations where transportation infrastructure may be needed to support future development can be used for Transportation Planning.
