Description:

This data set represents the location of 31 tribal in-lieu and treaty fishing access sites for the four treaty tribes of the Columbia Basin (The Nez Perce Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon, and the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Indian Nation) and the location/direction of the exits from major highways to access the sites by motor vehicle.

In 2014, after site and facilities construction were completed, an update to the information on property location (specifically property entrances) was completed on this point dataset. Also created was a polygon layer of the property boundaries and the facilities – see TribalFishingSitesPoly2014.shp

Copyright Text: Laurie Jordan and Michael Broncheau of the CRITFC provided the original location data for sites, site type, and directions and facilities for the sites and at the sites. Final data on locations came from "Fulfillment of a Promise: A History and Summary of the Planning and Implementation of the Columbia River Treaty Fishing Access Sites. Columbia River Treaty Fishing Access Sites 1988-2011. Project Closeout Report June 2012".
