Description: Management Agreements were entered into by English Nature, and are now entered into by Natural England, with owners and occupiers of Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and occasionally on adjacent land. The purpose of these Agreements is to enable the land to be managed to achieve the nature conservation objectives. They are delivered through the Wildlife Enhancement Scheme (WES); and the Statutory powers for these Agreements were given to English Nature in the Countryside Act 1968 S.15 and to Natural England by the NERC Act 2006.
