Description:

FSA Counties are used to identify administrative areas for Farm Service Agency program administration. FSA Counties generally follow county or county equivalents, except in certain areas where a high density of agricultural operations over a large area results in a county being divided to provide more localized service, or in some cases where low agricultural density results in counties being combined into a single FSA county. When counties are combined, the original county boundaries are preserved and the attributes will reflect both the FSA County Code and the ANSI/FIPS code for the county or county equivalent.This dataset has been generalized to remove some detail, especially in coastal areas, for better legibility at coarse scales.
