sea_level_rise_projections_local_authority_v1 (FeatureServer)

View In:   Map Viewer

Service Description: Relative sea level rise (i.e. including land movements). Values are decadal changes, in cm, relative to a 1981-2000 baseline. The data source is a set of international climate models from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5), produced on a 12km grid. The projections cover a range of emissions scenarios (RCP2.6, 4.5, 8.5). Values are given for the 5th, 50th, 95th percentiles. A spatial average has been calculated as the mean of all grid boxes along the coastal boundary of a Local Authority area. This dataset forms part of the Met Office’s Climate Data Portal service where other datasets can be found: https://climatedataportal.metoffice.gov.uk/

Description:

This data-set is structured such that each row corresponds to a combination of a Local Authority, an emissions scenario (RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5) and a percentile among the model projections (5th, 50th, 95th). To display the data, you must first filter by the "RCP and Percentile" column. The columns (fields) correspond to each decade. The fields are named by sea level anomaly, in cm, at decade x, e.g. "seaLevelAnom_2050s" is the anomaly in 2051-2060 compared to the 1981-2000 average. Note, some Local Authorities will show as "Null", this means there is no sea level data available.
