Service Description: This dataset displays Main Rivers in Taranaki Region. The layer is created solely for display purposes. It is based on the latest data provided by LINZ and toporivers from topographic maps dating back to the 1970s and 1980s. This feature layer utilized for the Web Maps in Local Maps, covering the Taranaki Region. Data collection and capture were conducted by LINZ and Topo river maps, supplemented by local knowledge, primarily from Chris Fowles, a freshwater scientist at Taranaki Regional Council. Some limited editing has been performed to better align with aerial photography. Publication and distribution have been managed by TRC since January 16, 2017.
