Data Service contains points and lines that represent projects included in the NCDOT State Rail Plan.

Fields

State Rail Plan ID (SRPID): Sequential numbers assigned as a unique identifier for all projects included in the State Rail Plan.
STIP, Prioritization, or FRRCSI Project Number (ProjectID): Unique ID or Number from listed programs.
Program Stage (ProgramStage): Program stage indicates a range of horizon years and funding status for projects included in the State Rail Plan. The field is coded as either Committed (funded projects in the first five years of the program), Next Steps (unfunded projects in the first ten years of the program), and Vision (unfunded projects in years 11 through 30 of the program).
Railroad Owner (RROwner): Company or organization that owns the railroad track, may be different than operator.
Railroad Operator (RROperator): Company or organization that operates the railroad track.
Project Type (ProjectType): This category is establised by the primary purpose or benefits of the project. Safety projects are grouped in the freight category as that is how they are predominantly grouped in NCDOT Rail Division's criteria for the Strategic Transportation Investments Prioritization Process.
Funding Status (FundStatus): This denotes whether or not a project is funded in either the State Transportation Improvement Program, Freight Rail and Rail Crossing Safety, Federal grant or other programs.
Funding Program (FundProgram): Program that is funding project.
Project Description (ProjDesc): Description of the Project.
Type of Estimate (TypeEstimate): This is used to indicate whether the cost estimate included in the data is a capital cost estimate or an estimate for planning and / or engineering services.
Estimate (Estimate): Capital cost estimate or estimate of planning and engineering services, depending on Type of Estimate field
